Are black diamonds genuine?

Black diamonds are genuine diamonds that have been color enhanced.  The enhancement process can vary between heat/pressure and irradiation.  Irradiation is the most common process.

Black diamonds start as white diamonds and after four months of irradiation they change color.  All diamonds do not come out perfectly black some are gray and others are half and half.  In some case black diamonds are rare because they generally do not all come our perfect there is an art in matching stones.

Black diamonds do not change color, and will not fade.   They are genuine but technically not natural because of the man-made color enhancement.
